Hello, hope everyone is doing well today! I had the best day I have had in a long time. It started out normal enough, I got to see my Mom and her husband just in from out of town. Before work I scrolled through some of the keto groups, I am a part of. A couple groups were eliminating inactive members, so I created a post. I posted that I was down 43 pounds into my nine-week keto journey, and the best advice I could give was to educate yourself on the power of food and fasting. The more I learned the better I wanted to do. Until now I might respond to a post here and there, congratulating someone on their success, cheering them on, or maybe offer a little advice where I could. I never expected what happened next. At first, I received some congratulations and likes, and was feeling pretty good about myself. Then I started to respond to some questions and had a few doubters. Initially I was thrown by those who doubted me, I was not trying to sell anything, why would I lie about it. Then I see the comment from another, “I lost 100 pounds in 3 months, click this link and purchase this and you can too”. Then, I see some comments where people are telling me I was giving great advice, I reaffirmed what they believed, or I had inspired them in some way. Wow to inspire someone and feel some heart-felt responses. I can’t put into words how great that made me feel. To know that on my journey, I could inspire a few people to do well on their journey too. I was blown away from the positivity and praise I received today. I was pretty emotional for a several hours.
Some of you are brand new to my little site and some have been with me for a few weeks now, I appreciate all of you and thank you for your support. I have had some great results so far on my journey, but today has been the best by far. I can’t thank everyone enough. I have had great results with my diet so far. From what I learned today they may be above average. I am going to open up and share some information, I have not shared with but a few people. My health was on the decline for 5 years, I should have been on oxygen full-time for the last two. I was diagnosed with severe asthma and my sinuses were completely blocked. I went through two sinus surgeries to fix it, and no results. I lost my sense of smell five years ago and would get excited when I could breathe through even one nostril for five minutes or so. I usually had to stop at the top of a flight of stairs to catch my breath and was always exhausted. There was hardly any joy in my life. Late last year I was about to lose all hope I could ever have a normal life again. I had been to two different allergy and asthma doctors and seen a pulmonologist along with the ENT that did my surgeries. I went to the doctor and complained one last time. I had spent all this time and money, and all I did was get worse. They started me on two new medications, and finally something worked. At first, my sinuses started to clear up, then I occasionally I would catch a whiff of a scent. Next thing I know, I started to breathe a whole lot easier. I started taking my dog Zoey on some longer walks (maybe a mile max) and was feeling better. Then one day I got on the scales, I was at 285 pounds. I knew I had to do something immediately to get the 35-40 pounds I had put on over the last few years off of me. And that led me to the keto diet, and right here in front of all of you. With Covid going on, I had little to no social interaction. I created this little site to help hold me accountable. If I only had myself to answer to, that might not be enough.
So yes, my results so far have been great! I am also aware that any activity I do is amplified because I was inactive for so long. I am working at everything I am doing, maybe I did not appreciate life as much before mine was temporarily taken away. I started keto a few weeks before I started to try and walk a mile or two a day. I was just walking at a casual pace at first, probably slower than normal pace for most. I gradually increased the length and speed as I began to feel better. I also started to learn a lot about intermittent fasting and keto. I am giving this journey all I have. I do not just want to get to where I use to be. I want to be better, be healthier. I have also learned a lot about the power of food. How I was eating was not only killing me, but hundreds of thousands of people in the United States every year. All of the major killers in the U.S., diabetes, heat disease, and cancer, can bet traced back to sugar, complex carbs, processed foods, you know all the junk people created to make money off of us. They use to try and tell us smoking was good for you too. In the 1960’s the obesity rate in this country was 5%, now it’s about 40%. The food and agriculture lobbyists spend millions of dollars every year to keep selling us products that are killing us. I learned I could eat foods that can change all that, and the healing properties of fasting can repair some of the damage I have done over the years. All the cells in our body are replaced about every seven years. The body has amazing healing powers, you just have to give it what it needs to do it. There are studies that show by eating right we can revers heart disease, recover from type 2 diabetes, cure cancer, and all sorts of amazing things. I still have a lot to learn, but now I know what is possible. I want to do everything in my power to keep my life from being taken away again. There are no guarantees, but I can only increase my chances by making some lifestyle changes. Seems like a pretty small price to pay now.
Now you guys know a lot more about me than I ever planned on revealing, but maybe I can help someone out there that might be where I once was. I have not been anything but honest with you guys and will continue to be open about my experiences on my journey. I hope you enjoy and find value in the information I pass along. I will not try to deceive you in any way. I am not a doctor, nor an expert, I am just relaying what I learn and experience along the way. I have two links on this site that go to the 28-Day challenge site and The Custom Keto Diet. I will take them down if you guys want, I do not want you to think I am just trying to make a buck. I did purchase the 28-Day challenge guidebooks and have shared some of what I learned with you already. I do not like how they make you purchase this product. They tried to upsell me so many times, I about left the site. I did find value in it, that is why I shared it here. The custom keto diet link led me to Trifecta nutrition meal delivery. They have a lot of great information on that site and offer all kinds of diet plans. For athletes, Paleo, Vegan, Keto, Clean eating and more. I did not order from them, as I was laid-off and money was tight. Now, I really enjoy cooking for myself. I believe they offer an excellent product, but think I learn more by looking for recipes and trying new things. I am really starting to pay attention to what goes in my food as well as what my food might be eating. What your food eats, does matter. All of the chemicals your food eats, become concentrated in what we eat. It is definitely more expensive, but trying to go cage-free, free-range, grass-fed, and organic whenever possible.
Please leave me a comment, share your story, tell me what you would like to learn more about, or ask a question. I want to provide you with the information you want to know, it will most likely be good for me as well. Thank you all again, for making today so very special for me.
Have a great day and good luck on your journey!
