This week was my first week back to work in a few months, I had been temporarily laid off. I had a definite decrease in my walking, and hardly worked out with my exercise bands at all. I maintained the keto diet and intermittent fasting, except for the cheat meal I had on Sunday which was technically the end of week 6.
I may have lost one pound this week, I do not use a digital scale, so it is not exact. I will not count the one pound and say this is the first week I did not lose any weight. I think I may start paying more attention to my calorie count, but I doubt I’m eating over 1200 calories a day. I am not disappointed with my results this week. I did expect a bit of a dip due to reduction of physical activity. I also know that many people experience fluctuating results as they go through their keto journey. Bottom line is I am fortunate to have been averaging five pounds of weight-loss each week for seven weeks. As I am down 35 pounds in 7 weeks, and I’m looking good.
As I adjust to my new schedule, I will try to resume at least three posts each week. I am also going to commit to walking 30 miles each week. I have really found that walking is not simply good exercise, but it has been therapeutic as well. I spend all my time at work on the computer and alerts seem to be going off on the phone all day. I just take this time to unplug from everything, the phone goes with me as my step counter but its on silent. Sometimes I listen to positive music, and other times I enjoy the sounds of nature. My first full week of walking I walked 24 miles and fell to 17.7 last week, so I am not setting my goal too high. I am just increasing it some over the prior weeks. It is important that I think about my goals before setting them, because they must be reasonable and achievable. Its okay to fall a little short here and there, but I do not want to fail miserably. I feel it is important to push myself a little along the way too. Trying to keep in mind that I am just beginning to exercise, as my health has improved and allowed me to start being more active. We crawl before we walk.
More good news! I was able to schedule my vaccination shot today as Indy has allowed those 45 and up to get vaccinated. I am looking forward to joining a gym once it has taken effect, so I may enjoy my walks even when the weather is nasty. I think I will move to some strength training as well, still just trying to do a bit more each day.
