I did some research on what happens when you a cheat day on the keto diet, what I found was fairly encouraging. If you don’t go too overboard with your cheat day, it won’t be too bad. It all comes down to just how many calories you consume during your cheat period. The greater the calories, the greater the damage. If you have been in ketosis for a while, and you do not over do it, you will be back in ketosis in a day or two if you get back on track. It would be better if we just kept it to a cheat meal, rather than a whole day. I also think it is important that we partake in a cheat meal if we don’t have them too often.
I have decided to plan for two cheat meals for myself. My initial goal is to lose 50 pounds, so I plan on having a cheat meal when I reach -30 and -50 pounds. I should have my first one within a week, yeah! I am thinking Pizza and still working on a dessert, or maybe it will be just pizza and beer.
