I really appreciate everyone who takes time to visit my little site here. I am brand new to the ketogenic diet and decided to share my journey online. I figure this way I can share with others what I learn and maybe others will share their knowledge with me.
I am also brand new to this whole blog site thing. So please bear with me if you find things that may not work or look just so yet. Please know I am trying to figure it all out. I woke up this morning to find a few likes and new subscribers in my inbox, and I didn’t even think I had published anything yet. Not sure how the wordpress sign up works yet, but I will figure it out. Since I had already leaked some info, I went ahead and released what I have so far. It’s not perfect but please stick with me for a bit and I’ll do my best. I hope you find useful and enjoyable content here. I am open to suggestions and am working to do my best for you. Thanks for taking the time to check out my site.
What lead me to Keto? Basically, my health was on the decline for about 5 years, I seemingly suddenly developed asthma at around 40 years old. One test I had at the doctor’s office put me as low as 30% lung capacity. Prior to this I did a walk test where they monitored my oxygen levels, if I fell below 90%, I was going to have to be on oxygen. I scored a 90 and barely passed, I probably would have failed that test later as my conditioned worsened. I wasn’t exactly the picture of health prior to this, I’m not trying to paint that picture. I have always been moderately overweight, except maybe my freshman year of college (age 18), I ate well, worked out most days, and jogged a mile and a half every other day. I was about 200 pounds back then, but prior to my health problems I had hovered around 250 for as long as I can remember. Finally, in December of 2020, I was put on a medication that started to turn my situation around. I am much better now, but I would not go as far to say I back to where I was.
Anyway, one day I got on the scale at the house and it read 285 pounds, I was shocked and knew I had to do something immediately. That was 20 pounds heavier than the last time I was on the scale at the doctors. Where did it come from and when did this happen? That’s not important, the only thing I can do now is to try and lose the weight and fast. I have a close friend who lost 85 pounds on the keto diet, so I decided to learn more about it and see if I thought it was something that could work for me. Everything I learned about keto made me think this could be the plan for me. The keto diet is supposed to turn my body into a fat burning machine, and its supposed to be more effective than a low-fat diet. Not to mention all the possible health benefits, and I don’t have to count calories. Sounds perfect, I know calories are still important but I’m just trying to take one little step at a time. I realize to get where I want to be, I may have to eventually reduce caloric intake, but until the results start to diminish, I will continue this way for now.
Would anyone else like to share their success here? Just comment below. Thanks for checking out my blog and have a great day.
